Privacy Policy

When you create or use an account, we collect account information such as your email address, name, authentication identifier, and sign-in/session information. Authentication is handled through Clerk.

When you use Cabinette, we store the content you choose to add, including saved items, URLs, titles, authors or creators, source metadata, article text, article HTML or Markdown, YouTube metadata or transcripts when available, Reddit thread metadata and text, PDFs, images, notes, reflections, saved blocks, highlights, reading progress, search indexes, summaries, recaps, and related embeddings.

When you use the Cabinette Clipper extension, the extension reads the active browser tab only when you intentionally use it. Depending on the page, it may read the page URL, title, selected text, readable article content, article HTML, Markdown, image URL, author, site name, publish date, YouTube video metadata, Reddit thread metadata, highlight selectors, or ChatGPT conversation text visible on the page. The extension sends this data to your Cabinette account so the item can be saved.

We also collect limited technical and usage information needed to run the service, such as request path, request status, user agent, request IDs, rate-limit information, job status, model usage, token estimates, and analytics or performance data. IP addresses may be processed by our infrastructure providers and may be stored in hashed or provider-managed form for security, abuse prevention, and operations.

We use your information to provide Cabinette, including saving your library, displaying your saved items, generating summaries, creating embeddings, powering search and Q&A, creating recaps, saving highlights, syncing reading progress, securing accounts, preventing abuse, debugging errors, and improving reliability.

We do not sell your personal information, clipped content, notes, browsing data, or saved library content. We do not use your clipped content for advertising.

Cabinette may send saved content, notes, questions, summaries, or related text to AI service providers to provide features such as summaries, titles, embeddings, search, Q&A, and recaps. AI outputs may be incomplete or incorrect, so you should review important outputs before relying on them.

Cabinette uses service providers to operate the product, including hosting, database, file storage, authentication, analytics, rate limiting, and AI infrastructure providers. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Cabinette.

Current categories of providers include Vercel, Clerk, database/storage providers, Redis/rate-limit infrastructure, and OpenAI or other AI providers used by the app.

The Cabinette Clipper collects and transmits website content only when needed for the user-facing clipping and highlighting features described in the extension and store listing. The extension does not collect browsing history in the background, does not read pages you do not ask it to clip, and does not sell or use clipped data for advertising.

The use and transfer of information received from Chrome extension APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Cabinette uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and app functionality. The web app may store local preferences or temporary drafts in your browser. The extension may store its API endpoint setting in Chrome extension storage.

You choose what to save. You can delete saved items, notes, blocks, highlights, and other content from the app where deletion controls are available. You can uninstall the browser extension at any time. To request account deletion or data assistance, contact neerajgraviton@gmail.com.

Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove copies from backups, logs, or provider systems where temporary retention is required for security, recovery, legal compliance, or operations.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No internet service is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cabinette is not intended for children under 13. Do not use Cabinette if you are under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
